Programme Features

Programme Objectives

Upon successful completion of the programme , students will have a solid linguistic and pedagogical base as well as classroom experience gained through observation and supervised teaching. Our graduates will be qualified to teach in a variety of educational settings, such as :

  • Intensive English programmes
  • Private language schools
  • English as a foreign language programme in non-English speaking countries

Programme Information
  • 2.5 years (7 semesters)
  • 29 courses (including MPW – Malaysian Compulsory Subjects & practicum)
  • Full time course (classroom based + practicum)

Enrolment Criteria

Malaysian Student

  • Possess an SPM Certificate or its equivalent
  • Possess a credit in English and in at least two other subjects
  • Possess at least a B in English and in two other subjects in UEC

International Student

  • Complete High School with a credit in English and in at least two other subjects

English Requirements

  • Possess a Credit (C) in English in the O-Levels
  • IELTS: At least band 5.0
  • TOEFL: At least a score of 213 (computer-based test), 550 (paper-based test) or 79 – 80 (internet-based test)
  • Complete and pass at least level 106 in the ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP)

  • 60% examination + 40% coursework
  • 40% examination + 60% coursework OR
  • 50% examination + 50% coursework
